Seeing the light

These 1st two pictures are the new sky lights Bill put in. Aren't they great? What a nice spot of light to have in the hall bath and kitchen. I am so glad he talked me into these. It was a bear of a day though as it has turned hot here. Poor Bill roasted on the roof. But at least most of the outdoor work is complete now. He only has a vent to fix on the outside but that can wait til fall or some early Saturday before the temps rise.
Had to replant my boxes. The winter stuff was over. This should last til the first frost. Yippee. Put a few flowers by the front porch as well. Such a cute little cottage
TA DA!. In another month the flowers should look amazing. Be good everyone!

Full spring ahead!

Got a chance to travel to Anna & Strattons over the Mother's day weekend and one of our projects we hoped to get at was getting Anna's garden started. She has this nice little patch next to her house that was just perfect for her first ever garden. I went off and got her some mushroom compost and some top soil then I put her to work getting it all turned in.
She was a pro with the shovel and got that patch looking fine. We took a rake to it and got it all ready for planting.
I had a spring horse to get rid of before we eventually move and since Adeline seemed to love it so much when she was at our house I asked Anna if she could give it a new home. They weren't able to take it back with them on their last visit so I drove the van and made the delivery when I came. You would have thought Adeline won the lottery. She was so excited. She kept screaming eeeee, eeeeee trying to imitate a horse neighing. Well she rode that thing into the sunset for sure.
It was so fun to watch her. She can climb right up on that thing. I'm not sure she can get down but I imagine gravity will eventually solve that problem. Anna said that Amy taught her how to climb up on it. Now that's a surprise!
Ah, this is the after photo. Doesn't it look fantastic. Sure hope the sun kisses it and Anna gets lots of yummy vegies. She planted tomatoes, beans, cukes, different lettuces, chard, and collards. It will be fun to see it grow.
We had the British Car days this weekend and Bill took away a new trophy. He won the tech award. It is given by the last recipient each year to whomever he feels is most deserving based on the work they have done on their own cars. So Bill gets to keep it for a year then pass it on. He was quite proud.
Nancy and Gary spent the afternoon with us too and I told Nancy to pick out her favorite car and I would take her picture by it. Turned out one of the owners heard us and offered her a chance to sit inside. It was fun seeing her look so natural behind the wheel. Better watch out Gary, she will be ditching her sewing soon and join a car club.
At the end of the day we were just getting ready to pack up and go home when a bride and groom that had been married on the grounds spotted the car that nearly matched their colors. They were wanting to take a pic besides it but we would have none of that and insisted they get in. The bridle party was waved in and the photographer ended up taking tons of shots and posing the wedding party and such. It was great fun and they all got a big kick out of it. So did we. Our little car will forever be in some cute couples wedding photos. Kind of a nice thought. Thats all folks.

Bunny week

We had a wonderful weekend plus a couple days either side of Easter with Sarah and Anna's gang. Adam's gang joined in on Saturday and it was a fun filled house. We had the best time. Adeline insisted that Will should use his pacifier. He finally complied but it was an on going quest for her.
I loved the expression on his face. I think he spit the pacifier out and was making a run for it.
Amy parked the bunnies on the dresser. I guess it was a mom and baby but they were cute up there.
"they left us with the babies, they left us with the babies!" Actually all the parents went outside to hide Easter eggs. Papa and Meme had to "suffer" through the gbabies. Won't it be fun when we have Chase and Landon too?
The gang was very patient while the hiding proceeded. They had a ball finding all the eggs. Don't have any pictures of that cause we were all too busy helping the egg hunt.
Adeline back in her grocery bag. It is so fun putting her in there. We got Will in one too and were swinging them both around. They will probably need therapy in their 30's over this but we sure got a good laugh.
I know you can barely see them but I "landscaped" the front of the house. One day they will look marvelous. At least it looks nice and neat now. Took over 2 loads of dirt to fill the space in and about 15 bags of mulch.
My latest pottery masterpieces. At least the cost per piece it finally going down. Maybe by the time I am done I will get it down to about $20 bucks apiece. Yikes. I would never pay that for them but it has been fun. The larger one in front is my favorite. It was made of red clay and the glaze it a very pretty blue even though you can't tell it here. The smaller ones have a pretty cream and red speckled glaze which you can also not see here but I was happy with the way they turned out. I don't think I will become a potter but it has been something different to keep me out of trouble. I put the pen in front so you can size them (for Lynn). Well thats it for this post. Had to hurry as I am working half day today and I must get going. Love to all my blog followers and have a great day.
