Jeff and Judy had Jordan & Brady's wedding reception at the Lake Arrowhead club house. It was such a nice location and Mary Marshall and Jane Kassow did the flowers. Since Jordan's favorite is the sunflower they came up with these gorgeous arrangements. I just had to take a photo or two but it doesn't do them justice

This one was on the mantle...

....in between some cute pictures of the wedding couple.

Jane took this picture of me which all things considered I thought turned out pretty good. She kept posing me for this to turn out ok.

Anna and Adeline came to the reception too and it was fun being with them and watching Adeline get into mischief. She had a ball dancing with another little girl but I didn't catch that on camera. A storm was blowing in while we were out on the club house porch. It was fun to watch. Speaking of storms....

Ok, so we had this great idea to walk to Marietta for the free concert and fireworks for the 4th of July. It was our first time walking there from our Marietta house and we wanted to see how long it took. We decided to take our chairs and a picnic dinner and enjoy an evening on the square. Well, the sky started to get real dark about half way there and then it started to sprinkle and Bill thought we should get under an office doorway. I thought we should keep going but acquiesed and no sooner did we get under the small doorway cover then the sky opened up. The lightening and thunder sounded like armegeddon and the rain came down sideways. The wind bent the trees in half and needless to say, we weren't going anywhere soon.

We stood under this little cover for 40 minutes while the weather howled around us. We didn't stay too dry as evidenced by the next photo. Bill was soaked on his left side and when the wind changed I got soaked on my right side. Water was literally dripping off Bill's face and all we could do was laugh and hope we didn't get electrocuted. I later heard there were over 300 lightening strikes around us. No kidding, I was clinging onto Bill for dear life and I am so glad I listened to him and got under the porch cover. We at least had a false sense of security.

We did finally make it to the square. By the way, it only took 15 minutes of actual walking time and was a very pleasant walk. Good to know. The concert ended up being cancelled for lack of power, no surprise there. We were going to stay for fireworks but decided against it when we saw another wave of storms blowing in. We made it back to the car just as it began to downpour again. We ended up watching fireworks on PBS when we got home. Had to wring our clothes out. Quite the adventure. Til next time!
